Josh Hair and Beauty Salon is looking for a friendly, organised and customer‑focused Salon Coordinator / Receptionist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a client‑facing, fast‑paced salon environment and enjoys keeping daily operations running smoothly behind the scenes. You will be the first point of contact for our clients and play a key role in delivering an exceptional salon experience from arrival to checkout.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Experience & Front of House
- Greet clients warmly and professionally on arrival
- Check clients in and out using Salon IQ, ensuring records are accurate
- Offer refreshments and maintain a welcoming salon atmosphere
- Keep the reception and waiting area tidy, calm and fully stocked
- Send appointment reminders, follow‑ups and relevant client communications
- Appointments & Scheduling
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments using Salon IQ
- Answer phone calls, WhatsApp and Instagram enquiries promptly and professionally
- Maintain accurate client records, preferences and service history
- Manage walk‑in enquiries and resolve scheduling conflicts
- Support stylists by keeping them informed and on time throughout the day
- Administration & Salon Coordination
- Monitor salon email inbox and assist with daily admin tasks
- Help with stock checks and product reordering (colour, treatments and retail)
- Maintain inventory records and notify management when stock is low
- Assist with preparing client packages and service bundles
- Support paperwork and forms for new and existing clients and staff
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a salon, reception, hospitality or admin role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident using technology and booking systems (training provided)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
- Friendly, professional and naturally hospitable personality
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience using Salon IQ or other salon booking software
- Interest in the hair, beauty or wellness industry
