A JOSEPH Stockroom Assistant is responsible for the flow of merchandise from a central point of delivery in our stockroom to the retail sales floor. Our Stockroom Assistants are professional, organised, show high attention to detail and are super knowledgeable about the products that we sell. As a Stockroom Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the stockroom and deliveries, ensuring the appropriate levels of merchandise is available on the shop floor at all times, to drive sales and achieve sales targets. You will work to embody the host department store’s values and objectives whilst maintaining knowledge and understanding of JOSEPH’s to ensure a seamless shopping experience for the client.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Positively impact customer experience through display and visual appeal.
- Ensure that products are accessible, constantly available, and properly distributed.
- Contribute to the profitability of the retail operation by receiving, handling, and managing the inventory of merchandise and supplies in a timely and organised manner.
- Check merchandise and supply deliveries for accuracy and verify that the quantity received matches bills of lading, purchase orders, and other documents.
- Decrease store shrinkage by investigating inventory discrepancies and reporting suspicious activities to the store management team.
- Support the store management team with the control of stock and processing deliveries, transfers and stock returns.
- Advise about product placement and new inventory levels.
- Participate in year-end inventory.
- Organize the stockroom, and ensure accurate labelling, logical placement, neat arrangement, and cleanliness.
- Undertake daily tasks as required by the store management team.
- Take ownership of your role and work to support the store team to achieve goals.
- Support the Sales Assistants with customer sales during peak times.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a luxury retail or premium retail stockroom environment.
- Experience of working in a concession and achieving store approval.
- Demonstrable commercial knowledge and brand awareness.
- Excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate via varied channels.
- Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
- Positive and solutions driven attitude; takes responsibility for own actions.
- Excellent product knowledge; motivated to continuously build product knowledge.
- Excellent time keeping and reliable attendance.
- Super organised and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes and a high-pressured environment.
