Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week). Our operational office is based in the Garth, New Earswick, York. You will be able to work flexibly with a blend of home working, on site and in JRHT offices as required.
About the role: The role of Money and Benefits Adviser is pivotal in supporting JRHT residents to sustain their tenancies. You will support our income management work with residents providing advice, support and guidance on Universal Credit, Disability Benefits, Personal Independence Payments / Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit and Housing Benefit. You will work with residents to maximise their income and promote financial capability and independence through the welfare benefit and money advice service. As a member of the Housing Team, you will work closely with the Housing Management Team Leaders and Housing Officers to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. The role is central to JRHT’s commitment to achieving the highest professional standards in the delivery of our housing services through the provision of specialist knowledge and advice.
About you: You will have a client focussed approach that allows you to build and maintain effective professional relationships with a diverse range of people from diverse backgrounds. Experience of offering money and benefits advice, maintaining accurate records, and an understanding of debt along with associated legislation is key to you being successful in the role.
