Location: Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York
Type: Volunteer | Approx. 30 hours/month
What you’ll be doing:
- Processing invoices and charges to hirers
- Preparing budgets and financial reports for the board
- Reconciling accounts using Xero and our ticketing system
- Managing bar and front-of-house income (cash and card)
- Overseeing VAT and Performing Rights payments
You’ll be fully supported and working alongside others—it’s very much a team effort.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone with a solid financial background who’s ready to bring their expertise to a vibrant community setting.
Essential:
- A recognised finance or accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent)
- Experience in finance, bookkeeping, or accounting
- Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail
- Willing to work collaboratively and get involved in theatre life
- Able to commit around 30 hours a month, including trustee meetings and show nights
Desirable:
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
- Previous charity or trustee experience
