Mechanical Design Engineer circa £30-38,000 per annum very dependent on experience + excellent benefits Tredegar area Salary range is very dependent on your experience and the skills you can bring to the organisation. Newly created role with an International Manufacturer at their South Wales site. Mon – Fri role early finish Friday. The experienced Mechanical Design Engineer will support the Company’s Product Design and Development System. The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide the Technical Manager with support when requested concerning all aspects of the Product Design and Development activity the Manager deems the Design Engineer is qualified to undertake, Strong Mechanical Product Design experience min 3 years’ experience of working in an Engineering or Manufacturing organisation, this is essential. You must be currently being living in or near South Wales. The company may consider a Mechanical Engineering Graduate who will have gained a few years’ experience of working in a similar permanent role. A stable work history is essential and experience of working in the Automotive industry would be an advantage. The company is not able to offer sponsored employment * Compilation and preparation of Technical Designs associated with the company’s products. * Significant Customer liaison. * Compile and then issue Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) in line with the company’s published QMS procedures. * Coordinate the collection of data associated with Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) in line with the company’s published QMS procedures - (Windchill). The coordination of ECN’s will be responsibility of the Engineering Administrator and therefore the Design/ Project Engineer will liaise and direct the Engineering Administrator as he/she feels appropriate to ensure a timely and effective process. * Engineering bill of materials compilation and Product structure bill of materials (Fourth Shift) maintenance, in line with the company’s MRP system requirements. * Representing Engineering department in specific NPI activities as assigned by the Technical Manager which will include attendance of meetings, recording and reporting Engineering Actions and their time lines in support of Product Design Engineering projects. * Key responsibilities will include the professional liaison with customers and suppliers in support of technical issues related to the company’s current products and the evolvement of new product designs and its development. You will need to be accustomed to following systems and procedures * Flexibility is required in terms of working hours as business demands can often change at the last minute. The role is generally business hours; however, some additional or very occasional weekend work may be required as the organisation continues its growth path. You must have the permanent legal right to work in the UK Travel to work from; Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Bridgend, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr, Pontypool, Hereford
