Business Development Sales Account Manager Basic Salary circa £55-60,000 +per annum + Bonus + Car allowance + excellent benefits Division of a Global Manufacturer South Wales You will be an experienced Sales Manager with extensive Product Business Sales experience and considerable Account Management skills gained in Manufacturing or Engineering industry. You must have experience of selling manufactured products. You will be selling bespoke Engineered products into leading manufacturers This is not a role selling a Service Reporting to: European Sales Director this Sales Manager role is a Technical Sales and Account Management role and does not require extensive people management experience. A stable work history is essential General Purpose of Role: Managing Allocated Customer Accounts – customer satisfaction and P&L responsibility. Identify and develop business opportunities in line with a clear commitment to meeting the current customer’s requirements and delivering a high-quality service. Prospect for new customers that fit with Company commercial and sales strategy and effectively manage them into the business. Oversee and Manage Account Managers performance. Set Targets and monitor. Main Responsibilities: Account Management Be the first point of contact for allocated customers – maintain and develop relationships with all relevant contacts within the customers – regularly visit allocated customers Prospect for additional business within allocated customers Responsible for P&L and margin maintenance / development Obtain future significant changes in demand and forecast build information Assist Quality department in the commercial and contractual analysis of returned parts and Warranty Recall. Support Customer Service Planners to help resolve supply issues Support the Accounts Department to help resolve any invoicing queries Support the Purchasing Department to help resolve any commercial issue impacting customer account performance Be the voice of the customer within the Company. Sales Management and Business Development With the Sales Director, develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals for growth and profitability. Focus on complementing current customer portfolio. Develop new market opportunities – Liaise with other company divisions to ensure markets and potential customers are contacted, and aligned With Account Managers, develop monthly visit plans to customers – target minimum of 1-2 per month visits Attend industry events and conferences to identify new business opportunities RFQs – manage the response to the customer Review documentation received including contract review and present requirements internally Set timing for collecting the responses Set/agree margin with the Sales Director and prepare QADS and quotations Meet quotation date within the agreed time frame with the customer Ensure documentation is catalogued and archived in line with certification and auditing requirements Ensure smooth handover of new customers to Account Managers / Business Development Managers People Management Working on account management plans with the account managers Monitoring account managers in line with KPI’s set by the Sales Director Person Specification Specific Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or Engineering discipline and / or a similar related discipline with technical knowledge and/or any equivalent combination of training and experience is desirable. Previous Work Experience: Experience in sales of technical or industrial products in Sales Management is essential. Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence: Excellent communication skills Good leadership qualities Excellent interpersonal skills Understanding of the importance of customer service Ability to carry out personnel evaluations, set performance targets, engage new employees, identify and possibly deliver training Must be self-motivated – the candidate will need to set themselves challenging targets and be responsible for delivering on given commitments. You must have experience of selling manufactured products.
