Our established team of commercial litigation lawyers and KCs works collaboratively to deliver effective, results-driven case strategies aligned with our clients' commercial objectives. The Role
We are looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to join our team on a 12-month fixed term basis, covering a period of maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied caseload of commercial disputes, supporting fee earners at all stages of litigation. The level of responsibility and exposure to high-level work for paralegals is unusually high at JHA. This is a fantastic role for a self-motivated and autonomous individual, who may be seeking a different environment than the usual large corporate law firm. There will be opportunities to learn from and work alongside hard-working, accomplished professionals who strive to provide the most effective advice and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with and supporting partners, associates, and paralegals - assisting with all stages of commercial litigation from pre-action through to trial.
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence, court documents, and ancillary materials.
- Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries and chronologies.
- Assisting with document management, archiving, and electronic disclosure (including document review and bundles).
- Maintaining matter files and ensuring key deadlines are tracked and met.
- Producing consistent, accurate and high-quality work.
- Other general administrative duties as necessary.
- Willingness to be involved, driven by the desire to learn and develop yourself.
Ideal Qualifications & Experience
- At least 2 years of experience as a commercial litigation paralegal with a reputable firm.
- Solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and court processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisation skills, and attention to detail.
- Desire to be part of a forward-thinking, fast-paced and dynamic firm.
- Proactive with a hands-on attitude and an enthusiasm for engaging in a wide breadth of duties.
