As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of project commercial performance, ensuring contracts are administered effectively, costs are controlled, and project profitability is maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs and commercial performance from commencement through to final account.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements.
  • Measure and value works completed on site.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment.
  • Manage change control, variations, compensation events, and claims.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Prepare and present commercial reports to senior management.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients.
  • Support procurement activities and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and final account negotiations.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and Change Management.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable.

Desirable Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience within tunnelling, water, rail, highways, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Membership of RICS or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and complex contractual matters.
