Role Overview:
As a Junior Engineer at Joseph Gallagher Limited’s Retford office, your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and identifying key tender requirements to ensure compliance.
- Assisting the Estimating team in conducting material take-offs from ITT documents.
- Working with the Estimating team to ensure all bids align with project specifications.
- Using Microsoft Project or P6 to develop project schedules.
- Gaining proficiency in the Conquest estimating program.
- Keeping the cost library database updated with current market rates.
- Identifying new suppliers and maintaining relationships with existing ones to secure competitive rates for materials and equipment.
- Actively participating in weekly tender review meetings or conference calls.
- Preparing compliant tender submission documents, including work programs, methodology, pricing, and contractual terms.
- Assisting in the development of design reports, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Identifying and procuring materials to support project requirements.
- Providing engineering expertise to support project execution.
- Conducting site visits to gain practical experience and understand company expectations.
- Receiving training in contracts and commercial management.
- Participating in the JGL Life induction program to align with company culture and values.
