Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Funeral Director role based in Alsager. The Funeral Director will guide families through funeral arrangements, including discussing service options, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met. Daily responsibilities include meeting with families, arranging viewings and services, coordinating with clergy and celebrants, managing transportation and scheduling, and overseeing documentation such as permits and certificates. The role may involve supervising embalming and preparation of the deceased, working closely with funeral home staff, and ensuring the venue is prepared and presented appropriately for services. The Funeral Director will also handle follow-up support, maintain accurate records, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and care.

Qualifications

• Experience with funeral home operations and funeral service coordination, including familiarity with local regulations and best practices in funeral Homes.
• Technical skills in embalming and preparation of the deceased, with a strong commitment to safety, hygiene, and respectful handling.
• Proven ability to provide compassionate Family Services, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds with sensitivity and discretion.
• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and professional client-facing demeanor.
• Relevant professional training or certification in funeral directing or mortuary science is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by on-call service schedules.
• High level of emotional resilience, reliability, and attention to detail in sensitive and time-critical situations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for family meetings, services, and related arrangements.
