The Process Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence across the galvanizing business by defining, measuring, analysing, and improving key operational processes. The role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing profit margins through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. A key aspect of the role is to identify, establish, and implement best practices across the group, ensuring consistency, scalability, and long‐term sustainability of operations. The Process Engineer collaborates closely with cross‐functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the central and local management teams to plan and execute site‐specific improvement projects.Lead improvement projects at various UK galvanizing sites, sometimes spending extended periods at a single site to see a project through to completion.Drive initiatives aimed at increasing production output while reducing resource usage, including energy, materials, and labour.Apply structured methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, PDCA) to galvanizing operations to enhance throughput and cost efficiency.Establish and implement group‐wide operational best practices to drive consistency and performance.Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions based on data‐driven insights.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure process reliability.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Improvement in production efficiency, throughput and margin.Successful implementation of process improvement projects.Established group‐wide operational best practices.Reduction in process downtime and waste.Compliance with safety and quality standardPERSON SPECIFICATION Bachelor\’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.Ideally a minimum of 3 years\’ experience in a similar process engineering role.Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Familiarity with operational efficiency and cost reduction strategies.Willing to travel to sites with some overnight staysFull UK driving licenseWHAT WE OFFER Salary £40,000 – £45,000paUp to 9% annual bonusCompany car or car allowance (£500 per month)25 days holiday plus annual bank holidaysReward Gateway – Smart Spending and Saving AppShare Save SchemeOpportunities for training and professional growth.Exposure to varied projects and operational processesA supportive work environment with access to experienced mentors and industry leaders
