The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Facilities team to ensure the office environment is safe, functional and well-maintained. This entry-level role is ideal for someone starting a career in facilities management. The Facilities Assistant will learn the fundamentals of building operations, health & safety, contractor coordination and office support while helping deliver a positive workplace experience. This role will give an opportunity for the right candidate to develop an understanding of Facilities Maintenance and undertake further qualifications in their desired field.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily office checks, ensuring the workspace is clean, operational and well-presented.
  • Help monitor and respond to basic maintenance requests, escalating issues when needed.
  • Support moves, office setups, furniture assembly, and meeting room arrangements.
  • Assist with deliveries, post room duties, and stock management (e.g., stationery, kitchen, cleaning supplies).
  • Assist in monitoring building systems such as HVAC, lighting, water systems, and access control.
  • Learn how to read and interpret basic M&E documentation (schematics, maintenance schedules).
  • Support contractors during planned maintenance visits, ensuring correct access and safety compliance.
  • Help track and update M&E asset registers and maintenance logs.
  • Participate in energy monitoring activities and learn about sustainability initiatives.
  • Shadow engineers during fault diagnosis and repairs to understand troubleshooting processes.
  • Participate in basic training around H&S policies and workplace compliance.
  • Learn how to use CAFM/helpdesk systems for logging and tracking tasks.

  • Basic Salary: Negotiable
  • Mon - Fri Working hours: 8am - 5pm
