About the Role

As an experienced Qualified Accountant with a proven track record, you will be:

  • Financial Reporting & Accounting
    • Preparing financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
    • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
    • Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102) and/or IFRS.
    • Supporting clients with bookkeeping and management accounting.
  • Taxation
    • Preparing and filing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and companies.
    • Advising on corporate tax, VAT, PAYE, and personal tax matters.
    • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
    • Supporting clients with tax planning to ensure compliance and optimisation.
  • Auditing
    • Planning and conducting audits in line with UK auditing standards (ISA (UK)).
    • Testing financial controls and evaluating financial risks.
    • Preparing audit reports and discussing findings with clients.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Payroll Services
    • Administering payroll services for clients.
    • Ensuring compliance with employment and tax legislation.
    • Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC.
    • Managing pensions auto-enrolment compliance.
  • Advisory Services
    • Advising clients on business performance and strategy.
    • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Supporting business start‑ups, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
    • Offering guidance on financial systems, software, and internal controls.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Acting as the main point of contact for assigned clients.
    • Understanding client needs and tailoring services accordingly.
    • Providing regular updates and reports to clients.
    • Building long‑term relationships to support business development.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensuring compliance with Companies House filing requirements.
    • Staying updated on UK financial legislation, regulations, and standards.
    • Advising clients on compliance with laws such as the Companies Act 2006, GDPR, and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • Continuous Professional Development
    • Maintaining membership with professional bodies such as ACCA, ICAEW, or CIMA.
    • Completing required CPD hours to remain compliant.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required

    • At least 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar financial role.
