About JORO

At JORO, we believe travel should change the way people see the world.

Since 2017, we've been creating extraordinary journeys for curious people who want to experience the world differently. Every itinerary is designed from scratch, built around the individual, and crafted with the same care whether it's a private yacht expedition in Antarctica, a family adventure across Africa or a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in the Himalayas.

Today, we work with private clients, family offices and global partners to design journeys that go far beyond the expected - from immersive cultural experiences to complex expeditions in some of the world's most remote places.

We're entering one of the most exciting periods in our history.

With a growing international client base and ambitious expansion into the United States, we're building the foundations for JORO's next chapter. Alongside this, we're strengthening our network of strategic partnerships that introduce our brand to exceptional new audiences.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: travel should enrich lives.

Not only for the people who experience it, but for the people, communities and places that make those experiences possible.

We're a small team with ambitious standards, and our goal is simple: to become the world's most respected experiential travel company.

The Opportunity

The Travel Designer is one of the most important roles within JORO.

This is where creativity meets logistics, where extraordinary ideas become extraordinary journeys, and where relationships matter just as much as destinations.

Our Travel Designers are trusted advisors to our clients. They take the time to understand what inspires people, then curate deeply personal journeys that couldn't simply be booked online. Every trip is designed from the ground up, balancing imagination, operational excellence and meticulous attention to detail.

You'll work alongside our Travel Coordinators, who help manage the operational delivery of each project, allowing you to focus on designing remarkable experiences while overseeing every stage of their successful execution.

No two clients are the same. No two itineraries are the same. That's exactly how we like it.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys complexity, thrives on responsibility and is excited by the challenge of delivering experiences that genuinely exceed expectations.

Our Travel Designers are based in London, working in a hybrid pattern between our office and home.

What the Role Involves

Being a Travel Designer requires two very different ways of thinking.

On one hand, you'll work within detailed planning processes where precision, organisation and exceptional attention to detail are essential.

On the other, you'll constantly be solving new problems. Every client is different, every destination presents unique challenges and every journey demands fresh thinking. You'll need to understand people, adapt quickly, remain calm under pressure and confidently make intelligent decisions when circumstances change.

Success in this role comes from balancing creativity with structure.

You'll need outstanding communication skills to build trusted relationships with demanding clients, suppliers and partners across the world.

You'll bring broad destination knowledge and a genuine passion for discovering the world. Whether through your own travels or years spent researching exceptional places, you'll have an instinct for matching the right destination, property and experience to the right client. You'll be naturally curious, constantly expanding your knowledge and staying up to date with the world's most remarkable destinations, properties and experiences.

Exceptional travel design isn't simply knowing where to go—it's understanding why one place is perfect for one client and entirely wrong for another. Over time, you'll develop an encyclopaedic knowledge of the world's finest destinations, properties and experiences. The best Travel Designers never stop learning. They travel, ask questions, build relationships and seek out new ideas because they know that one piece of local knowledge can transform an itinerary from excellent to unforgettable.

Above all, you'll share the values that define JORO.

We want every client, partner and supplier who works with us to come away excited, inspired and confident they've experienced something genuinely exceptional.

We build long-term relationships because we care about the people behind every journey, and because respect for the destinations and communities we work with sits at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Be Doing

This role combines creativity, project management, commercial awareness and operational leadership.

You'll work closely with clients, suppliers and colleagues across the business to create journeys that are as seamless behind the scenes as they are extraordinary for those experiencing them.

Journey Design

• Working alongside the wider JORO project team, you'll create highly personalised travel concepts for clients before developing those ideas into fully operational journeys.

• You'll collaborate with trusted specialists and partners around the world, ensuring every detail is considered and executed to the highest possible standard.

Operational Planning & Logistics

• You'll oversee every logistical element of the journeys you own.

• This includes managing complex itineraries, contingency planning, equipment sourcing, permits, insurance requirements, travel documentation, safety planning and operational procedures.

• You'll ensure every resource is secured efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and value.

Financial Ownership

• Working alongside the Operations Director, you'll take ownership of the financial planning for your projects.

• This includes creating detailed budgets, incorporating appropriate contingencies and ensuring projects remain commercially robust throughout their lifecycle.

• You'll oversee supplier payments, consultant costs and third-party expenditure while ensuring client funds are received and managed appropriately.

• You'll also confidently present budgets internally and directly to clients where required.

Team Leadership

• You'll work closely with the Operations Director to support and mentor our Travel Coordinators, helping them develop while ensuring project workloads are effectively allocated across the team.

Supplier & Partner Relationships

• You'll develop and maintain long-term relationships with our global network of suppliers, guides, operators and specialists.

• You'll negotiate where appropriate, uphold the highest standards of service and ensure every external partner reflects the quality and professionalism expected by JORO clients.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

They enjoy solving complex problems, take ownership naturally and care deeply about the experiences they create.

You'll ideally bring:
