We have an exciting role in our Technical Team at our Bakery where you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining product quality and food safety through process monitoring, auditing, problem solving and communicating to individuals at all levels within the organisation. As part of your role, you will monitor and audit the manufacturing processes within the manufacturing environment in order to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of the processes. From there develop and recommend action plans to improve the processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • To carry out HACCP verification checks as defined within the Quality System.
  • To maintain and control the Stevens Ingredient Weighing System and provide qualitative and quantitative analysis on ingredient usage.
  • To carry out process and GMP audits as defined within the ABSS requirements and complete audits of finished product quality and follow up on corrective actions.
  • To collate daily weights information and ensure any corrective actions required are carried out.
  • To review checkweigher performance on a daily basis and arrange for any remedial/corrective actions to be carried out.
  • To carry out process loss checks on ovens and coolers on a quarterly basis and checks on every divider on a weekly basis.
  • To publish weekly weights information including finished weights, ‘potential give-away’ and record non-conformances.
  • To actively seek means of minimising weight loss/give-away.
  • Sampling of products to ensure Product Quality.
  • Liaising with Allied Bakeries and Allied Technical Centre for sample regimes.
  • Analysing and trending information and data obtained through sampling and assessing.
  • Ensuring product is manufactured having taken all reasonable precautions to prevent Foreign Body contamination of all descriptions.
  • To be involved in project work as required to improve product quality, yield, plant efficiency and New Product Development (NPD).

The Right Person

  • Will have previous experience of working in a technical department preferably in a Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading projects involving multi-disciplinary teams is desirable.
  • Team player with excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Professional approach and a self-starter and willing to learn new skills.
  • Ideally degree educated, or equivalent.
  • PC Literate, including excellent Excel knowledge.
