An exciting opportunity to join and be part of a leading organisation with ambitious 5-year growth plans and lots of potential both within the Jordans Dorset Ryvita Production team and the wider ABF group. You will be based at our Biggleswade site, reporting into the Shift Leader, working on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern (Nights) 6am-6pm. The focus of this role is to be responsible for moving goods, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving forklifts, there will also be a requirement to work within the process department when required. We expect all of our employees to demonstrate a safety 1st culture.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards e.g. BRC, Femas.
- Manoeuvring forklifts safely in a busy industrial environment.
- Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
- Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas.
- Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
- Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages.
- Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport.
- Use the systems in place to accurately control and co-ordinate raw materials, packaging, consumables and finished goods.
- Ensure all Health & Safety documentation and policies are followed and completed.
- Control OEE, wastage and plant efficiency.
- Handling and preparation of raw materials used in the manufacture of food products.
- Ensure all quality, hygiene procedures are followed, and identify potential improvement areas.
