Jool Education is a premium online English school for ambitious young learners. We go beyond traditional ESL by using English to explore high-level ideas — from literature, philosophy, and history to science, debate, and big academic questions. Our students are bright, curious, and often capable of working 1–2 years ahead of school when taught well. We are looking for a teacher who can match that pace with confidence, warmth, and strong teaching presence.
Minimum requirements
- Native English speaker
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Strong spoken and written English
- Experience teaching children live online
- Reliable, professional, and well organised
Preferred
- Master’s degree
- IB, IGCSE, AP, 11+, or international school experience
- ESL / EAL teaching experience
- Strong writing correction and feedback skills
- Confidence leading advanced discussion, presentation, and debate-style lessons
What we’re looking for
We are searching for dynamic teachers who can genuinely captivate and inspire young minds. Our best teachers are:
- outgoing, articulate, and confident on screen
- able to build rapport quickly with bright students
- comfortable teaching at a faster pace than many schools
- able to stretch students beyond their year group, not just repeat school content
- interested in ideas across multiple disciplines
You do not need to be a school teacher. In fact, some of our strongest teachers come from more dynamic ESL and academic discussion backgrounds. IB expertise is a plus, but not essential.
Subjects of interest
We welcome teachers with academic interest or background in areas such as:
- Literature
- Philosophy
- History / Sociology
- Science
- Debate
- Or another subject that can enrich high-level student discussion
Role responsibilities
- Teach online 1:1 or small group classes
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons using Jool materials
- Lead academic discussion, speaking, reading, and writing development
- Complete some homework checking and student feedback
- Follow Jool systems and training
Important to know
This role suits teachers who enjoy working with bright students and want to grow with a premium education brand over time. We build teacher schedules gradually to ensure quality, parent trust, and strong long-term matches. This role is therefore best for teachers who are happy to grow their hours steadily rather than expecting a full timetable immediately. Teaching hours are typically within 8am–3pm UK time, mainly with South Korean students.
What we offer
- Starting at £17–£20 per hour, depending on experience and fit
- All curriculum materials provided
- Google Workspace subscription
- Training in the Jool teaching method and systems
- Performance-based pay reviews every 6 months
- Long-term growth potential for successful teachers
