We’re working with a specialist provider of decontamination and sterilisation services supporting healthcare organisations across the UK. They are now looking to appoint a Decontamination Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a busy production environment, ensuring services are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys running a tight operation, and keeping complex processes moving smoothly.
THE BASICS: You’ll be responsible for keeping production running efficiently across a large decontamination operation, which includes:
- 4 team leaders
- A structured, shift‑based environment
You’ll report directly into the General Manager and work closely with other Production Managers, sharing best practice and supporting service continuity. Our employer‑partner has a clear handover period and a supportive management structure in place.
THE WORK:
- Leading and motivating production teams across decontamination services.
- Planning rotas, staffing levels and production schedules.
- Ensuring services are delivered on‑time and in‑full.
- Working closely with Quality, Transport and General Management.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant standards, policies and safety regulations.
- Managing performance, absence, development reviews and succession planning.
- Monitoring KPIs and addressing issues before they become problems.
- Acting as a visible, calm presence during busy or pressured periods.
This is an exciting operational leadership role, not a desk‑based management post.
WHY THIS WOULD SUIT YOU: We’re open to candidates from a range of regulated, process‑driven environments, including:
- Healthcare / Medical Devices.
- Hospitals (NHS or private).
- Manufacturing or clean‑room environments.
- Highly regulated production or operations settings.
Direct decontamination experience is ideal, but strong production managers who can learn the technical side are absolutely encouraged to apply. Proven experience managing people in a production / operational environment, coupled with confidence running shifts, rotas and busy workflows and strong communication and collaboration skills will lead to be of interest. Anyone with a continuous‑improvement mindset (LEAN experience is useful) and is comfortable working afternoons / evenings on a rotating shift pattern, whilst having professional qualifications or membership in decontamination bodies (IDSc / CSC) are desirable but not essential – if you bring the right leadership experience.
WORKING PATTERN: 2pm – 10pm shift Monday – Friday one week & Tuesday – Saturday the next week (rotating). On‑site role based in the South-East, England.
First stage interviews will be with the hiring manager and an experienced Production Manager, followed by a second stage with two General Managers.
CONCLUSION: If you are looking for a stable, well‑established organisation with a clear purpose, with meaningful work that directly supports patient care, in a structured operation environment with experienced peers across sites, please apply today. This is an opportunity to lead, develop and influence others, backed by supportive management and realistic expectations.
