We're seeking an experienced and proactive Caretaker to support a wide range of maintenance and site-related tasks. Our College is an independent SEMH specialist school for students aged 11-16, many with EHCPs and diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream schools or face exclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and record regular safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, playground equipment, and legionella prevention.
- Complete a variety of maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
- Plan and manage a rolling decoration schedule, to be completed during school holidays.
- Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring their work is safe, high-quality, and completed properly.
- Maintain the school grounds, including grass cutting and hedge trimming when needed.
- Keep all pathways and entrances clear of leaves, moss, snow, and ice to ensure safe pedestrian access at all times.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Head Teacher or the Estates Team.
