Role: Family Solicitor (NQ - 2 years PQE)

Contract type: Permanent, 35 hours

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Are you a passionate Family Solicitor? Would you like the opportunity to develop and progress your career within an experienced Family department?

The role will require you to handle your own caseload, being responsible for helping to progress a variety of matters for fee paying clients including: separation and divorce, financial provision, child contact, adoption and guardianship.

The department is currently made up of 4 Partners, 1 Senior Associate, 1 Associate, 1 Senior Solicitor, 1 Consultant, 2 Solicitors and 2 Trainees and they all have the support of a dedicated Legal Support Team.

  • Managing your own caseload of family law client matters
  • Progressing client matters to litigation in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, where appropriate
  • Responsible for written and oral advocacy of litigated matters, as well as instructing counsel and skilled witnesses where required
  • Providing quality, practical advice to clients advising them in their options
  • Researching points of law and keeping up to date with changes and legal developments

At least 1-year PQE experience ideally with broad family law experience. A dynamic individual, wanting to be part of a modern, friendly, family law team.
