As we expand, we’re looking for a talented individual to play a pivotal role in our Road, Pedestrian and Cycling Injury department’s success. This is your chance to shine, contribute your expertise, and grow alongside a company that’s invested in your development.
The Role:
As a Solicitor within the RPCI team, you will manage your own caseload of litigated road, pedestrian and cycling injury claims for pursuers. The claims will mainly be litigated personal injury claims in the All Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court, and occasionally the Court of Session or local Sheriff Courts.
The team is comprised of Partners, Associates, Senior Solicitors, Solicitors and Paralegals, all of whom are supported by dedicated Legal Secretaries and a team of Legal Assistants.
The role presents an opportunity for the right candidate to develop personally and professionally within the firm and gain promotion. You will have the autonomy to manage your own cases with support from supervising Solicitors and Partners when necessary.
The ideal candidate is client-focused and proactive with a positive attitude and flexible approach. They will be a strong team player with a caring and compassionate nature, particularly when dealing with emotional and sensitive matters.
Responsibilities
- Handling a litigated caseload
- Ensuring cases are progressed quickly and efficiently
- Assessing prospects of a case
- Working with our valued clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice
- Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
- Communicating clearly and consistently with insurers, solicitors, fee-earners, and clients
- Carrying out investigations into liability and quantum
- Keeping case management system up to date
Requirements
- At least 1 year’s experience handling litigated personal injury cases
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Motivated and proactive individual
- Organised, punctual, and professional individualStrong, clear, and concise communication skills with the ability to maintain client contact throughout the process
- Professional and confident phone manner and ability to provide excellent service to our clients
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Computer literate, proficient with MS Office and case management system(s)
- Caring and compassionate nature
- Able to work autonomously but also within a team
