Jones & Us CIC is a community wellbeing organisation dedicated to improving health and wellbeing through inclusive physical activity. Based in Renfrewshire, we deliver accessible sport and fitness programmes for individuals who may face barriers to participation, including people with learning disabilities, neurodivergence, mental health challenges and mobility impairments. Our sessions focus on building confidence, improving strength and mobility, and creating a welcoming community through sport and exercise.
The Role
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Sports & Fitness Coach to support and deliver inclusive physical activity sessions for adults and young people with learning disabilities and mobility impairments. The successful candidate will work directly with clients in small groups or one-to-one settings, delivering adapted sport and fitness sessions that are safe, engaging and tailored to individual needs. Our ideal team member is reliable and pro-active, someone who is confident in engaging with people from different backgrounds, and who brings strong motivation and positive energy to each session.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inclusive sport and fitness sessions to participants with learning disabilities and mobility challenges
- Adapt activities to suit different ability levels and physical needs
- Support participants to improve mobility, confidence and wellbeing
- Assist with planning structured programmes and activity sessions
- Ensure all sessions follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Build positive relationships with participants, families and partner organisations
- Assist with monitoring progress and participation
Requirements
- Background in sport, fitness or physical activity coaching
- Full UK driving licence and access to own car (travel across Renfrewshire required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for community sport and inclusive wellbeing
- Experience working with people with disabilities, learning difficulties or additional support needs (paid or voluntary)
- Ability to adapt activities for different mobility levels
- Coaching qualification (e.g. sports coaching, personal training, fitness instruction)
- First Aid certification
- Experience delivering community or disability sport programmes
- Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive coaching practice
