We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Construction Skip & RORO Business Development Manager to join our organisation. The Construction Skip & RORO Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, expanding the client base, and developing strategic partnerships within the construction waste management sector. This role connects strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring alignment between market demand, commercial objectives, and company capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth
    • Develop and execute short- and long-term business growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
    • Identify emerging markets, customer segments, and new revenue streams within the skip and RORO sector.
    • Conduct detailed SWOT, competitor, and market analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare annual business development plans with clear targets, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Client Acquisition & Revenue Generation
    • Identify, engage, and secure high-value clients across construction, demolition, infrastructure, and related industries.
    • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract finalisation.
    • Establish long-term strategic partnerships and framework agreements.
    • Increase revenue per client through structured upselling and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite stakeholders, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
    • Strengthen and expand strategic alliances with suppliers, partners, and industry bodies.
  • Internal Collaboration
    • Work closely with marketing to shape campaigns, market positioning, and lead-generation strategies.
    • Coordinate with operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
    • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and market intelligence to senior leadership.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking
    • Monitor performance against KPIs, revenue targets, and strategic objectives.
    • Deliver monthly reports covering revenue performance, pipeline status, conversion metrics, and market insights.
    • Adjust strategies proactively based on performance data, market trends, and client feedback.

Qualifications:

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven track record (minimum 3–5 years) in business development, sales, or commercial management within waste management, construction services, logistics, or related industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience securing high-value contracts and managing strategic accounts.
  • Strong background in negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures, and long-term partnerships.
  • Experience conducting market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and strategic planning.
  • Evidence of achieving measurable revenue growth and meeting quarterly/annual sales targets.
  • Confident, persuasive, and resilient in high-pressure commercial environments.
  • Professional, credible, and able to represent the company at industry events.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving market.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience specifically within the skip hire, RORO, construction waste, or recycling sector.
