As Technical Manager, you oversee the Fixed Electrical Testing programme across 13 Data Centre sites, supervising APs to ensure safe HV 11kV and LV testing with zero downtime. You act as the technical authority for FET activities, driving safety, compliance and quality across the estate under the LTOM. You provide hands‑on AP cover when required and mentor two AP FET Engineers. This role offers a chance to shape critical data centre testing operations and uphold a safety‑first culture.

- Provide AP cover to ensure continuous programme delivery
- Perform safe isolations in accordance with SSoW
- Issue, manage and cancel PtW and Certificates of Isolation
- Enforce LOTO protocols across active electrical plant rooms
- Operate HV/LV isolations and management of MEP systems in data centres
- Supervise and coordinate two AP FET Engineers
- Plan and deploy AP resources to support FET schedule
- Oversee strategic planning, scheduling and execution of the FET programme
- Coordinate with site operations, contractors and clients to minimise impact
- Develop, review and approve SOPs and EOPs for FET activities
- Review RAMS and Method Statements for sub‑contracted testing
- Ensure testing activities comply with BS7671 and SSOW
- Act as technical authority for electrical safety across FET
- Audit PtW, CoIs and LOTO implementations
- Oversee contractors performing periodic testing per BS7671 and GN3
- Drive HSE compliance including Hazard/Near Miss reporting and Toolbox Talks
- Ensure risk management documentation for FET enabling works is in place
- Attend and lead client/contractor site meetings
- Provide technical reports, programme updates and performance metrics to LTOM
- Communicate schedules, risks and recommendations to stakeholders
- Participate in HSE compliance activities and Toolbox Talks
Tasks
- Minimum 5 years in Critical Environments (Data Centres or Banking HQ) with 2+ years in supervision/leadership
- Authorised Person (High Voltage and Low Voltage) - ACTIVE and CURRENT C&G 2391 or equivalent
- BS 7671 (Current Edition) - IET Wiring Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or City & Guilds 2320/2360 Electrical/Mechanical Engineering UK Level 3 or equivalent
- Proven leadership and mentoring capability with hands‑on operations
- Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, PtW and isolation procedures
- Excellent communication across organizational levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, contractors and stakeholders
- Physical capability to deploy across 13 sites and perform AP duties
