Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Surveyor / Senior Surveyor (circa 0 – 5 years PQE) to join our dynamic Valuation & Advisory team, with a primary focus on the thriving Industrial & Logistics sector. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a wide range of valuation assignments, develop expertise in a top performing asset class, and advance your career within a leading global real estate firm.

Location: JLL Birmingham, or Nottingham, Office – a predominantly office-based role with home-working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of appraisal reports for a variety of purposes, including financing, acquisition, disposition, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct thorough market research and data analysis to support valuation conclusions.
  • Inspect industrial and logistics properties to gather relevant property information.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on complex valuation assignments.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the industrial and logistics sector.
  • Utilize relevant valuation software to perform financial modelling and potentially discounted cash flow analysis, with extensive training provided.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Support the team in preparing proposals and presentations for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • A Registered Valuer, preferably with relevant experience in commercial real estate valuation and with any experience in the industrial and logistics sector being a bonus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Should ideally have some experience of Argus Enterprise and possibly Argus Developer and the approach to DCF valuations, but with extensive training provided on the software JLL utilises.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
