Building Consultancy | JLL ManchesterAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveyor, Associate or Senior Associate to join our commercial Building Consultancy team in Manchester. The team works with a range of investor clients, including major institutions and private corporate clients, as well as local occupiers, higher education clients, and landmark commercial assets across the North West. This is a well-established and high performing team and wider office, with a great track record across the North West market. We are searching for an outward-looking, commercially astute 'all-rounder' Building Surveyor with both Professional Service & Project experience. Technical excellence and client care are paramount, with entrepreneurial drive and strategic networking capabilities a key attribute for the role. Ideally a proven track record in business development and revenue generation but this is subject to level.The successful candidate will not only excel in delivering technical building surveying services but will actively drive business growth through existing client growth and/or new client acquisition, with a goal of expanding our market presence across the North West and identifying revenue opportunities wherever possible. This role requires a self-starter who can develop meaningful relationships across the commercial real estate sector, convert prospects into clients over the medium to long term, and expand our service footprint with existing accounts. We are keen to speak to commercially minded professionals who can balance technical delivery with proactive business development.What this role involvesTechnical Delivery & Fee Generation Undertaking Building Surveys and Technical Due Diligence reportsPreparing specifications for, and administering, repair and refurbishment contractsPreparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations / preparing exit strategiesDevelopment Monitoring across a range of sectorsPreparing planned preventative maintenance plansUndertaking building reinstatement cost assessmentsAssisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructionsSupporting more junior team members with their instructions and undertaking Quality Assurance checks on reportsBusiness Development & Client Growth Proactively identifying and winning new client opportunities across the commercial sector, with measurable targets for new business generationBuilding and nurturing a strategic network of contacts including internal teams, investors, corporate occupiers, property managers, developers, and professional advisorsConverting leads into instructions through compelling proposals, presentations, and relationship developmentExpanding service offerings with existing clients by identifying unmet needs and cross-selling at every opportunityRepresenting JLL at industry events, networking functions, and professional forums across the North West to raise our profile and generate opportunitiesCollaborating with colleagues across service lines to create integrated client solutionsTracking and reporting on business development activities and pipeline activityContributing to fee proposals, bid responses, and pitch presentations for new and existing clientsNote: Some travel may be required in this role to meet prospects, attend networking events, and support client relationship development across the North West region.Sound like you?
