Overview
As Engineering Manager at JLL, you lead the global account’s engineering function to ensure consistent service delivery, regulatory compliance, and high uptime of critical building systems. You will drive preventive maintenance programs, oversee procurement and contractor relationships, and develop engineering talent through structured training. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, compliant solutions while reducing reliance on outsourced services. This role offers impact across multiple properties, emphasizing continuous improvement and technical ownership.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of engineering managers and staff across a global account
- Ensure operational excellence and compliance for HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and associated systems
- Drive preventive maintenance excellence to maximize uptime
- Manage procurement, inventory control, and contractor coordination
- Maintain regulatory documentation and health & safety training per regulations
- Develop and supervise engineering talent through hiring, training, and performance management
- Foster ownership and continuous improvement within the team, including self-delivery goals
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineering, IFM Digital Operations, Engineering Solutions, and Work Dynamics teams
- Oversee annual Operational Compliance Program reviews and portfolio-wide audits
- Support transitions and onboarding of engineering teams and sites; run tech workshops and deploy playbooks
- Lead strategic planning sessions and multi-property engineering integration
- Manage vendor partnerships and technology implementation programs
- Benchmark and drive performance improvements across programs and processes
Key requirements
- 10+ years in facilities engineering management with multi-site oversight
- Deep technical expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, boiler systems, and critical building infrastructure
- Proven track record with preventive maintenance programs and uptime improvements
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for commercial facilities
- Experience building high-performing engineering teams (hiring, training, performance management)
- Ability to transition teams from outsourced to self-delivery models
- Experience implementing operational compliance programs and portfolio-wide audits
- Experience in procurement, inventory control, and managing contractor/vendor partnerships
- Strong collaboration across operations, digital technology, and reliability engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; certifications (PE, CEM, CFM) strongly preferred
