What this job involves: JLL\\\’s Sustainable Asset Services support the creation of resilient real estate assets for the future. We guide our clients through the evolving landscape of sustainability, to deliver their retrofit, fit-out or property transaction in accordance with their ESG goals and industry-leading practice. We help clients to decarbonise their buildings, protect assets from our changing climate and create better, healthier places for people. We have a diverse team of engineers and sustainability professionals, which enables us to guide our clients through all sustainability requirements for projects, combining NZC with equally critical sustainability criteria, maximising opportunities to deliver best-in-class sustainable buildings. This also provides a great environment for personal learning and development. We are a purpose driven team and aim to always be at the leading edge of what we do, to ensure that our clients are doing the right thing for the future.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Reviewing existing buildings from site surveys, as built information, energy bills and research, to quantify a building\\\’s key energy performance factors
- Training in IES(VE) dynamic thermal modelling and OneClickLCA whole life carbon assessments, as required
- Assisting with and creating detailed thermal models to define a building\\\’s engineering and architectural requirements for NZC
- Understanding a building\\\’s engineering and building fabric factors to determine an efficient NZC building design
- Assisting with sustainability design guides, including principles such as social impact and health & wellbeing.
- Researching latest industry best practice, policy and consultations, for example from the UKGBC and LETI.
- Undertaking whole life carbon assessments using OneClickLCA.
- Liaising with clients to advise on sustainable design and engineering solutions
- Preparation of energy strategies and other sustainability related documents for planning applications
- Supporting clients with their property transactions through ESG due diligence

Required Skills and Experience
- GCSEs – C / 4 grade or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Degree – Building Services or Engineering degree or equivalent Post Graduate qualification in Sustainable Design or similar
- A passion for sustainable and NZC buildings
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of building fabric elements related to energy efficiency
- An understanding of the UK GBC and LETI industry standards for NZC buildings
It would be an advantage to also be / have
- Competent in IES VE software and CIBSE TM 54 thermal modelling
- Familiar with Part L/SAP modelling
- Competent in AutoCAD and ideally Revit
