What this job involves:
- Performance Management
- Take on lead responsibility for the client accounts of specified portfolios (these are likely to be more high profile or more complex instructions).
- Prepare monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets that are IFRS/UK GAAP compliant (this is a key technical differentiator to other roles in the CFS team).
- Prepare nominal ledger reconciliations, VAT reporting, cashflows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Audit engagement management and liaison for the timely and effective completion of providing audit information and ensuring appropriate sign off.
- Monitoring and management of the filings, compliance and audits of the tax, CIS and VAT, supported by external tax advisors.
- Cash and liquidity management.
- Preparation of contract performance calculations (incl. KPI’s) as needed.
- Be a point of escalation for the team to resolve more technical issues (e.g. accounting compliance, VAT).
- Identify and suggest improvements to standardise, streamline and simplify working procedures.
- Any other accounting duties necessary to ensure the efficient running of the portfolio.
- Liaise with all departments to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved and aim to exceed expectations.
- Effectively manage risk by complying with Company and legislative procedures and controls. Identify problem areas and escalate issues promptly.
- Be the main point of contact for specific clients for the day to day running of the Client portfolio.
- Liaise with and support Surveyors on the portfolio, acting on requests and providing information in a timely manner.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Ensure strong communication links are established and maintained with the client accounts managers and finance team.
Essential
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA Part Qualified
- An understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent book keeping skills
- Strong Excel skills, (incl. working knowledge of pivot tables & V-Lookup tables).
- Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be flexible and able to work under pressure, multi-task and effectively prioritise.
- Organised, with attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Able to use own initiative to resolve day to day issues.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Client Systems (Yardi/MRI/Horizon/Voyager).
- Previous experience in similar client facing role
- Experience of preparing financial statements
