We are looking for a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to join the Residential Valuation team within our UK Residential Value and Risk Advisory business. Whether looking at development sites, high value single properties or complex portfolios across multiple Midlands locations, we require a driven and skilled valuer who is able to communicate with clients, lead instructions and deliver written valuation reports to a high standard. This role would suit someone who is very proficient with investment valuations and development appraisals, comfortable handling large amounts of data, highly numerate and with a keen eye for detail. Fluent report writing and strong communication skills with clients, both lenders and borrowers, are key, coupled with a drive to meet deadlines whether working alone or collaboratively.

The role sits within a national Residential Value and Risk Advisory team but within the Midlands sub-region, you will report into a Senior Director and be based in our Birmingham office at One Centenary Way, B3, but with flexible and hybrid working. Some travel regionally will be required for inspections.

Required or desirable skills and experience for this role:

  • MRICS qualification (essential) and 1-2+ years’ PQE.
  • RICS Registered Valuer.
  • Strong experience in the valuation of residential property assets of all types.
  • Fluent user of MS office systems, including data analysis and high standard report writing.
  • Comfortable handling large amounts of data.
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to produce high quality, accurate reports in MS Word with good attention to detail.
  • Experience of successfully building and sustaining client relationships and instructions, including being able to explain and justify the approach and assumptions adopted to clients.
  • Experience in coaching junior colleagues where necessary and supervising their work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Strong work ethic, with a demonstrable commitment to client service.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Flexible, team player.
