The core role of the HSE Manager is to work with the Head of HSE Risk Operations in delivering the overarching health and safety compliance objectives of the UK Workplace Risk & Resilience Team and KPIs identified in the client Management Services Agreement (MSA). The role will support operational site-based teams with the delivery of key objectives in maintenance of risk management platforms and our ISO 14001/45001 certified Integrated Management System (IMS).
The HSE Manager will be directly responsible for HSSE monitoring, risk management and auditing of health, safety and environmental management activities to agreed performance standards. In particular, the focus will be collaborative working with site management teams, surveying teams and service partners to drive compliance performance and best practice. The role will also require an element of training management and delivery, as JLL offers comprehensive induction and refresher training to staff.
Security intelligence is now forming part of the wider Workplace Risk & Resilience Services and, whilst we have specific resources in this area, the HSSE Manager will have an opportunity to engage, learn and develop in this area too. Property Management is transitioning into a global service line within REMS (Real Estate Management Services) and active contribution to transition projects and global/EMEA regional projects will be part of the role where required.
Location & Working Arrangements- Base: London office at Canary Wharf
- Working Style: Hybrid (office, home-based, and client site visits)
- Travel: UK client locations and regional offices as required
- Strategic Risk Management
- Partner with the Head of HSE Risk Operations to deliver compliance objectives and KPIs
- Manage our ISO 14001/45001 certified Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Oversee risk management platforms including Vision by JLL
- Conduct comprehensive site audits and compliance monitoring
- Ensure operational site teams manage identified risks effectively
- Client Service & Compliance
- Ensure Management Services Agreement (MSA) compliance
- Manage JLL liabilities related to health, safety, and environmental issues
- Collaborate with site management teams, surveying teams, and service partners
- Drive our S.A.F.E.R culture programme across the business
- Work with external consultants to ensure cost-effective risk management
- Incident Management & Investigation
- Lead accident and incident investigations using root cause analysis
- Manage serious incidents to conclusion with 'fair and just' approach
- Work with enforcement agencies when required
- Provide risk liability reports and compliance documentation
- Review audit results and report trends to management
- Training & Development
- Facilitate comprehensive induction and refresher training programmes
- Coordinate training delivery to operational management teams
- Maintain training needs analysis for the portfolio
- Support global and regional HSSEQ transition programmes
- Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Diploma or degree level equivalent
- IOSH Membership (essential)
- Experience in training and course facilitation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
