What this job involves: The Head of Data Privacy is a new senior leadership position reporting to the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. Leading a small team of privacy, this role sets the strategic direction for JLL's Data Privacy program, working closely with the Ethics & Compliance (E&C) team and business stakeholders to drive operational discipline and excellence. We are seeking a strategic, business-minded executive, who will not only ensure compliance with global regulations but also set strategic vision, balancing innovation with regulatory and ethical obligations, positioning privacy and responsible AI governance as sources of competitive advantage.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Set and deliver JLL's global privacy strategy, aligned to regulatory requirements and business priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating privacy requirements into practical, business-focused guidance.
- Represent E&C on privacy matters with regulators, clients, and industry bodies.
- Drive operational excellence and automation, identifying and implementing privacy-enhancing technologies and initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and support compliance monitoring.
- Lead JLL's response to privacy incidents, regulatory inquiries, and audits.
- Track emerging privacy regulation and translate it into clear requirements for the business.
- Act as key point of contact for Technology teams on Privacy and AI governance.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments and translate them into actionable requirements.
- Lead and develop a small team of privacy professionals, setting priorities and fostering growth and capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Executive presence - strong leadership skills, clear communicator, comfortable presenting to senior executives, regulators, and boards.
- Practical and business-minded - able to balance privacy requirements with commercial imperatives.
- Good working knowledge of AI systems and how privacy risk applies to them.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with a track record of building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Strategic and operational program development, change management, and executive-level stakeholder management.
- Passionate about building a culture of trust and integrity while enabling innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading data privacy / data protection, or AI governance, transformation and change management.
- Degree in law, computer science, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or other regulated sector.
Location: This position is based at our London HQ and requires working in office at least 3 days per week.
