Summary: The Sourcing Pursuit Director is a senior leadership role accountable for defining and executing JLL’s pursuit sourcing strategy across new business, expansions, and renewals. The role directly manages a small core team (2–3 direct reports) and operates within a highly matrixed model, partnering closely with Divisional Sourcing Leads as an extension of the team to ensure end‐to‐end sourcing leadership from pursuit strategy through operational delivery. This position requires a strategic, outcome‐oriented leader with the ability to influence at the executive level, translate commercial objectives into executable sourcing solutions, and create sustainable competitive advantage through innovation, risk management, and supplier strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Talent Stewardship
- Lead, develop, and performance‐manage a core team of 2–3 pursuit sourcing professionals while providing functional leadership and direction to Divisional Sourcing Leads engaged in pursuits.
- Build a strong leadership bench through intentional coaching, succession planning, and career development within both direct and matrixed teams.
- Foster a high‐performance, inclusive culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and commercial outcomes.
- Actively contribute to enterprise talent supply/demand efforts through mentoring, internal mobility advocacy, and external networking.
- Pursuit Sourcing Strategy & Solution Design
- Own the sourcing strategy for pursuit activity, ensuring alignment with sales strategy, pricing models, and operational execution.
- Lead development of complex, multi‐supplier sourcing solutions that balance cost, risk, scalability, and client value.
- Partner with Sales, Pricing, Account, and Divisional leadership to deliver differentiated third‐party solutions that strengthen win probability and margin performance.
- Provide clear governance, prioritization, and decision‐making across concurrent pursuit initiatives.
- Matrix Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
- Serve as the primary sourcing leader for pursuit engagements, aligning centralized and divisional sourcing resources to deliver seamless end‐to‐end outcomes.
- Establish strong executive‐level relationships across Sales, Sourcing & Procurement, Legal, Risk, and Finance to drive alignment and resolve trade‐offs.
- Lead sourcing strategy discussions with internal and client executives, ensuring solutions are commercially sound and operationally executable.
- Ensure sourcing commitments made during pursuits are fully supported and transferable to operations.
- Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Own sourcing risk identification, mitigation strategies, and compliance governance across all pursuit activity.
- Ensure sourcing controls, policies, and approvals are embedded early in deal development and sustained through transition to operations.
- Drive consistent and effective use of sourcing technology, data, and tools across pursuit and delivery teams.
- Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track sourcing KPIs related to pursuit effectiveness, value creation, risk management, and execution readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in pursuit sourcing processes, supplier strategies, and operating models.
- Communicate performance, insights, and recommendations to senior business leadership.
- Business Growth & Market Enablement
- Develop scalable, repeatable go‐to‐market sourcing solutions that enhance JLL’s market differentiation.
- Strengthen strategic supplier relationships in partnership with Divisional Sourcing Leads to expand capability, coverage, and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success leading senior professionals in both direct‐report and matrixed environments.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes at the executive level without sole decision authority.
- Strong track record of developing talent, managing performance, and building leadership capability.
- Experience leading complex client and internal strategy discussions.
- Ability to balance commercial objectives, operational feasibility, and risk governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience partnering with Account Directors, Divisional operational leaders, and Finance Directors in complex pursuit environments.
- Demonstrated success defining strategy and driving execution across large, matrixed organizations.
- Deep experience leading complex sourcing strategies through pursuit, transition, and operational delivery.
