The Role:
JLL is seeking an experienced creative designer that can help JLL’s clients craft the future of Real Estate by leveraging the power of design and creativity. This position is a leadership role focused on managing the JLL Design Lab creative team, with a primary focus to deliver creative solutions that meet the needs and aspirations of our clients. The role will be fundamentally client-facing, as you will be asked to pitch and win strategic work of the highest standards for our clients.
Reporting to the JLL Global Design Advisory Lab lead, the Design Lab Global Creative Director shall:
- Be recognized as a creative figurehead that represents the JLL Design lab within the business and an active member of the JLL Design team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive complex design programmes from inception to concept development.
- Ensure JLL Design Lab “stands out” as an innovative design thought leader in the market.
- Impart design thinking and creative skills development with your direct reports and within the broader JLL Design community.
- Be responsible for the creative quality and performance of the JLL Design Lab Creative team.
The Responsibilities:

- Developing the client brief through client interview, data collection and building appraisal.
- Appraising client working methods through workplace design best practice to make recommendations for workplace design transformation.
- Building trust with clients, managing their expectations with confidence and professionalism.
- Preparing creative concept designs, pitch documents and presentations including briefing and managing designers, and design assistants.
- Winning work by presenting personal and team designs in a competitive pitch situation.
- Attending site meetings (if relevant to the design).
- Liaising with regional design studios designers, technical designers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure design adherence, when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive studio culture that encourages creativity, growth, and knowledge-sharing.
- Attending high-level briefing sessions and presentations with clients.
- Identify and forge strategic partnerships to jointly work on cutting-edge processes and technologies.
- Interact with start-ups / tech companies / inspirational individuals.
- Research and notice new ideas and different technological trends e.g. AI in the market to spot ideas and innovative strategies that help the company.
- Build an excellent multi-skilled team of creative designers that can help create forward-thinking and sophisticated design strategies for JLL’s clients.
- Work closely with the JLL research and development department.
- Generate impactful innovative content for the Business.
- Communicate internally / Share Innovations and Trends to raise our profile.
- Communicate externally to Increase Brand Awareness.
- Encourage new ideas and promote creative thinking in the organization.
- Promote a culture of Design excellence, Curiosity, Learning and Innovative thinking within the broader JLL design community.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate should have:
- A strong background as a creative design practitioner and with strong communication presentation skills.
- A solid track record in large-scale and global strategic interior design projects for blue-chip companies.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in creative Interior Design and Consultancy Projects across the world.
- Proven track record of working internationally with large corporate multinationals.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary and international creative design teams.
- Proven track record of creating groundbreaking and innovative strategic design solutions.
- A well-honed aesthetic appreciation, and experience working with creative teams across a range of disciplines and deliverables.
- Experience in designing compelling user experiences and implementing them through the most appropriate development tools and technologies.
- Passion for human-centered design and empathy for those who we design for.
- Ability to form thoughtful and considered perspectives, supported by both objective fact and strategic conviction.
