Role Purpose:
Provision of all-round general maintenance support to the site, reporting into a controller of works. Whist an ‘unskilled’ role, candidate requires good knowledge & understanding of Health & safety principles, with industry experience desirable. You must have a logical and organised approach to the tasks in hand and be able to work in a flexible manner, due to the nature of the site. Works generally involve signing in, escorting subcontractors and assisting where no lone working permitted, as per Military base policies. Ensure plantrooms/areas are kept in a good condition, in regards to housekeeping & general condition.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carrying out tasks assigned by the team, appropriate to skill level.
- Signing in, escorting & assisting subcontractors is approximately 50% of the role.
- Ensuring subcontractors are working to MOD policies at all times, RAMS/PPE worn, raising concerns to Controller of works immediately.
- Following completion of works/subcontractor attendance, ensure detailed information is feedback to team leader, where applicable.
- Maintaining high plantroom standards across the base, reporting any areas of concern to the team leaders (such as leaks, noisy equipment, fault alarms etc).
- Carrying out routine plant/building walk rounds, noting any issues and ensuring a safe workplace.
- To carry out any reasonable request/tasks, within skill level.
