The Engineering Supervisor serves as a technical lead and operational coordinator, providing hands-on engineering expertise while supporting the Engineering Manager with site operations, team coordination, and ensuring service delivery excellence across all building systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operational Coordination & Site Support: Support the Engineering Manager in overseeing daily operations and compliance.
  • Coordinate and monitor the Corrigo work order management system, ensuring timely assignment, progress tracking, and completion of maintenance requests in collaboration with the site engineering team.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for contract works and repairs, verifying work meets specifications and serves the best interests of landlords and tenants.
  • Conduct dip checking of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities to verify completion standards, quality of work, and compliance with maintenance schedules.
  • Hands-On Technical Leadership (40%): Perform planned maintenance activities and repairs on building systems as scheduled, maintaining technical proficiency across core engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical support to site engineering engineers.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and remediation of equipment failures, working directly with site engineers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Lead by example during technical tasks, coaching and mentoring site engineers in proper maintenance procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Review and verify contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to work commencement, ensuring all hazards are identified and appropriate control measures are in place.
  • Undertake contractor health and safety supervision, monitoring adherence to approved RAMS, site rules, and safety protocols throughout the duration of works.
  • Conduct site supervisory audits to assess engineering standards, safety compliance, housekeeping, and operational performance across all areas.
  • Champion a 'safety first' culture across all engineering activities, conducting regular safety briefings and ensuring adherence to safety protocols by all team members.
  • Perform routine inspections of plant rooms, equipment compounds, and work areas, documenting equipment conditions, efficiency metrics, hazards, and remedial action requirements with appropriate timescales.
  • Team & Schedule Coordination: Coordinate daily engineering staff schedules and task assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient resource allocation across shifts and day operations.
  • Monitor and manage shift patterns, leave requests, and absence coverage, escalating resourcing concerns to the Engineering Manager as appropriate.
  • Arrange standby and emergency coverage for out-of-hours situations, ensuring business continuity and rapid response capabilities.
  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear communication channels with the Engineering Manager, providing timely updates on building performance, maintenance activities, contractor progress, and emerging issues.
  • Escalate critical building system issues, safety concerns, or operational disruptions to the Engineering Manager and relevant stakeholders promptly.
  • Prepare operational reports documenting equipment performance, maintenance activities, contractor works, PPM audit findings, site supervisory audit outcomes, and site conditions as required to support informed decision-making.
