JLL Workplace Management are seeking an Engineering Manager to cover multiple sites within Central London on behalf of a world renowned client.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Fully responsible for ensuring that the sites electrical, mechanical, HVAC and general services equipment are maintained in accordance with the agreed specifications and all such services operate efficiently at all times.
- Plan, co-ordinate and deliver monthly business reviews (MBR) for your region of responsibility.
- Regular travel between site locations offering technical support to the engineering teams on site.
- Point of contact for technical related issues and escalations OOH.
- Monitoring Corrigo daily ensuring your teams are completing monthly PPM/reactive work orders within KPI timescales.
- To control/monitor contractor planned maintenance for the building and to ensure that all works completed efficiently and economically and that the required records are maintained.
- Undertake reviews of contractor’s health & safety obligations and paperwork including (but not limited to) site-specific risk assessments, personal protective equipment, works method statements, training records, carry out contractor competency audits.
- To regularly inspect all plant, equipment and building structure/fabric and to monitor the progress of remedial works that are implemented.
- To maintain a ‘safety first’ culture at the building and to assist the Contract Delivery Manager in the operation of a safety management system, paper and/or electronic.
- To be accountable for the rostering of engineering staff as necessary and to organise and implement emergency cover arrangements for outside normal working hours and to arrange appropriate cover for holidays and sickness absence.
- To assist the Contract Delivery Manager with the formulation of annual budgets and to ensure that works planned within these budgets are implemented effectively and economically and the programme dates achieved.
- To keep the Contract Delivery Manager fully informed on all maintenance/engineering matters and to produce reports as necessary relating to the optimum performance of the building services.
- To co-ordinate with the Contract Delivery Manager and HR Department on the recruitment and training of technical and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure internal audits are completed in line with Integral policies.
Desirable:
- A Strong team leader possessing demonstrable team management skills who can work effectively with people at all levels and is capable of dealing with contentious and challenging situations.
- Holds a valid IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- A Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained within a multi-discipline hard services environment in a managerial role.
- A good working knowledge of assets such as plumbing; HVAC systems, controls, refrigeration and electrical/mechanical and experience managing cooling towers.
- Prior experience of Building Management Systems.
- Experience in managing electronic PPM management systems.
- Experience of managing technical incidents through to resolution.
- Experience in managing a service desk function.
- Be conversant with current Health and Safety legislation with experience of managing safe working practices and statutory compliance.
- Prior experience of managing a permit to work process.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel etc.
