We are seeking two talented and commercially astute Business Development Managers to join our growing Birmingham team one specialising in Fire & Security Detection space.In this pivotal role, you will drive sustainable growth by identifying opportunities, cultivating new business relationships, and expanding our footprint across diverse sectors throughout the Midlands region.Office Base: Your primary base will be our Birmingham office; however, we embrace flexible working arrangements which will include both field, office and home working as required.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Revenue Growth: Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities with both prospective and existing clients to consistently meet and exceed agreed sales targetsLead Management: Respond promptly to allocated sales leads, maintaining robust tracking and follow-up protocols to maximise conversion ratesSales Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts, prospect databases, quotation pipelines, and comprehensive sales reportingStakeholder Engagement: Establish and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with key customers, contractors, specifiers, and industry stakeholdersContract Preparation: Prepare compelling, professional proposals and contract documentation tailored to client requirementsPerformance Accountability: Achieve monthly and quarterly sales and activity objectives, managing your pipeline strategically to ensure consistent target deliveryTerritory Development: Proactively target regional and multi-site prospects within your defined geographical areaContinuous Development: Participate in regular sales meetings, training programmes and professional development activities as requiredCompliance: Maintain adherence to all company processes, quality standards, health and safety directives, and regulatory requirementsWhat We're Looking ForProven Track Record: Demonstrable success in selling Security systems or Fire Detection/Protection solutions within a B2B environmentTechnical Acumen: Strong technical and solution-based sales background with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, customer-focused proposalsConsultative Approach: In-depth knowledge and understanding of security or fire detection/protection systems, enabling you to adopt a consultative, needs-based sales methodologyIT Proficiency: Competent user of Microsoft Office suite and CRM platformsFull UK Driving Licence: Essential for regional travelRegulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety requirements including PPE, Accident Reporting, and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS)Personal Attributes:Comfortable being part of a team, offering support and encouraging attitude.Articulate, professional communicator with exceptional listening skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsSelf-motivated and resilient, with the ability to work effectively under pressureCustomer-centric mindset with a results-driven approachDemonstrable enthusiasm, tenacity, and commercial awarenessNatural aptitude for business development, lead generation and relationship buildingIf you are a commercially minded, results-orientated professional with a genuine passion for driving business growth, this represents an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact within a thriving organisation.What We Offer in ReturnCompetitive Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience and expertiseAnnual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays, with the flexibility to purchase up to 5 additional daysContributory Pension Scheme: Company-matched contributionsCar Allowance/Company car: Negotiable dependent on experience.Life Assurance: Providing peace of mind for you and your familyHealth Cash Plan: Fully funded to support your wellbeingPerformance-Related Bonus: Attractive OTE structure rewarding achievementWorking Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 08:45–16:40, Friday 08:45–16:00)Please Note: This role requires a Basic or Enhanced DBS check in accordance with company policy.If this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all of the requirements below.
