Location: Derby (based at our client Rolls‑Royce)

Hours: 40 Monday to Friday

What this job involves:

As a Building Fabric Technician at JLL, you'll play a crucial role in shaping a brighter way for our client Rolls‑Royce and their properties in Derby. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the structural integrity and appearance of buildings, ensuring they meet UK safety standards and remain in optimal condition. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of properties, from historic buildings to modern commercial spaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Your day-to-day will look like:

  • Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors and interiors to identify maintenance needs in line with UK regulations.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building fabric elements.
  • Carry out building repairs or maintenance projects across multi trades, ensuring compliance with UK building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address client concerns and improve property performance.
  • Oversee contractors and vendors involved in building fabric maintenance and repairs.
  • Stay updated on the latest building technologies and sustainable practices in the UK construction industry.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in building maintenance or facilities management in the UK (general building repairs i.e. basic carpentry / painting / general plumbing / tiling / plastering / grounds repairs).
  • Strong knowledge of UK building materials, construction methods, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and UK-specific building management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
