Summary of the Role

You will manage the contract renewal process for clients, ensuring timely renewals, maintaining client relationships, and maximising retention rates. This role combines account management, negotiation skills, and strategic planning to secure ongoing business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors contract expiration dates and creates renewal timelines for each client account.
  • Prepares renewal proposals, negotiates terms and pricing, and ensures all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policies and industry standards.
  • Maintains comprehensive records of all contract modifications and renewal agreements.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact during the renewal process.
  • Conducts regular check‑ins to assess satisfaction levels and addresses concerns that might impact renewal decisions.
  • Understands client business needs and how services align with their objectives.
  • Analyzes contract performance metrics, identifies trends in renewal rates, and assesses risk factors for non‑renewals.
  • Generates reports on renewal pipeline status, forecasts revenue from renewals, and tracks key performance indicators such as retention rates and contract value growth.
  • Works closely with sales teams to transition new contracts into renewal cycles, coordinates with the commercial team on contract terms and compliance issues, and partners with the account manager to ensure client satisfaction throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Develops strategies to improve renewal rates, identifies upsell and cross‑sell opportunities during the renewal process, and recommends process improvements to streamline contract management workflows.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a contract management, account management, or client services role, ideally within the sprinkler industry but engineering/construction/FM would also be considered (essential).
  • Experience in renewals or a retention role (essential).
  • Proven negotiation and persuasive communication ability (essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and contract management software (essential).
  • Analytical capability to interpret contract data and metrics (essential).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service focus (essential).

Working Hours & Location

Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.45 – 16.40, Friday 8.45 – 16:00). Location: On‑site – Birmingham, GBR.
