London / Hybrid — Full-time
Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) is a branding business, founded in 1990 and proudly independent ever since. We started out in the world of packaging, but now we’re worldwide—from three founders to more than 300 of us across the UK and US. Together, we build and deliver brands across the entire consumer experience. But even more important than what we do, is why we do it. We’re here to inspire brands and people to be their true selves. To be brave. Be tenacious. And above all, be yourself. Because we believe that’s the only way to truly be distinctive, everywhere.
We’re looking for a Creative Technologist to help shape the future of digital brand experience at JKR. This is a role for someone who sits comfortably between creativity, design, and technology—someone who experiments fearlessly, prototypes quickly, and brings emerging tools into the creative process in meaningful ways. If you love turning ambitious ideas into things people can see, test, click, or play with, you’ll thrive here.
What you’ll do:
- Build fast, expressive prototypes that explore new behaviours, interactions, and AI-enabled creative directions.
- Translate creative brand ideas into technical possibilities and bring them to life through demos, tools, or small-scale digital experiences.
- Explore emerging technologies: AI, multimodal models, WebGL, creative coding, automation — and help turn them into creative advantage.
- Collaborate with designers, strategists, and development partners to bring brand experiences to life with clarity and craft.
- Run R&D explorations, internal lab cycles, and experimental investigations to identify new opportunities.
We’re looking to know what makes you tick, what work you admire, what your best work is and what you’d love to be doing.
Creative + technical skills:
- Experience building interactive prototypes using modern web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Three.js, WebGL, GSAP).
- Strong proficiency in front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS).
- Familiarity with creative coding tools (p5.js, Processing, TouchDesigner, Unity, Framer).
- Ability to turn abstract or ambiguous ideas into tangible interactions or experiences.
- Strong understanding of digital behaviour, interaction design, and visual craft.
- Experience using AI tools or model APIs (LLMs, generative visuals, multimodal workflows) to create new possibilities.
Mindset:
- Curious, experimental, and fast learning.
- Excited by ambiguity and able to shape undefined spaces.
- A systems-thinker who enjoys connecting creative ideas with technical execution.
- Collaborative and confident working with designers, strategists, and engineers.
- Comfortable sharing work early, iterating, and exploring multiple directions quickly.
Experience we’d expect:
- 3–7 years in creative tech, digital experience, innovation, R&D, or adjacent roles.
- Experience in creative agencies, digital studios, tech startups, or innovation labs.
- A portfolio that shows prototypes, experiments, interactive work, or AI explorations — even if they’re scrappy.
Tools you may use:
- Languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python (AI workflows).
- Frameworks: React, Next.js, Svelte, Three.js.
- Creative tools: TouchDesigner, Unity, Processing, Framer, Figma.
- AI tools: OpenAI, Runway, Stable Diffusion, ElevenLabs, ComfyUI, etc.
- Deployment: Vercel, Netlify.
What success looks like:
- Inspiring prototypes that unlock creative thinking on live briefs and pitches.
- New AI workflows, experiments, and tools introduced into the studio.
- Faster, more ambitious innovation across digital experience and brand behaviour.
- Clear creative and technical impact on the work we deliver.
