Our client, a high-profile organisation, is seeking a Public Law / Policy specialist to support the delivery of complex and sensitive policy work with significant senior stakeholder visibility. This is an opportunity to contribute to fast-moving programmes at the heart of decision-making. Applicants must hold active SC clearance or have previously held SC clearance within the last 10 years.
The Role
You will operate as a senior policy advisor, working across a broad and evolving portfolio. The role involves developing and shaping policy, providing clear and structured advice, and engaging with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing policy solutions in response to complex and sensitive issues
- Producing high-quality written outputs including briefings, submissions, and communications materials
- Advising senior stakeholders at a senior level
- Managing a varied portfolio of work, often at pace and under pressure
- Interpreting legal and policy frameworks to inform decision-making
- Collaborating across teams to support joined-up delivery
This role would suit:
- Current or former civil servants (SEO/G7 level)
- Public law or government lawyers seeking a policy-focused contract
- Policy advisors with central or public sector experience
- Public sector consultants with experience delivering large-scale programmes
- Legal or advisory professionals with exposure to policy, casework, or complex regulatory frameworks
