We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a busy and collaborative providing legal and case management support across civil litigation, prosecutions and inquest matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional with strong organisational skills and litigation experience to work within a fast-paced legal environment supporting complex and high-profile cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage documents relating to litigation, inquests and prosecutions using electronic document management and e-discovery systems
- Support case management activities, including monitoring and tracking deadlines
- Take notes during court proceedings, inquests and regulatory hearings
- Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries of findings
- Liaise with external solicitors, counsel's clerks and court representatives
- Maintain and update legal know-how databases
- Support knowledge-sharing initiatives across the legal team
- Identify and coordinate relevant training opportunities
- Monitor and communicate important legal and regulatory developments
Requirements
- Strong IT skills with experience using electronic document management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong legal research skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and approachable manner when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible attitude and willingness to support a busy legal department where required
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and respond positively to feedback
Desirable Experience
- LPC, BVC or equivalent legal qualification
- Previous paralegal experience (ideally 1β3 years)
- Litigation, prosecution or inquest experience
