We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer to join our busy site team in the heart of Canary Wharf. This role is essential to the ongoing maintenance and operational efficiency of our high-spec residential facilities.
The Role
- You will be the primary lead for Heat Interface Unit (HIU) maintenance and servicing across the site, ensuring all units are performing to manufacturer specifications.
- In addition to your specialist HIU duties, you will play an active role in the wider mechanical team, performing general Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across the site’s mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- HIU Specialism: Comprehensive servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs of various HIU makes and models.
- General Mechanical PPMs: Executing a variety of mechanical maintenance tasks, including plumbing, valve checks, pump maintenance, and system monitoring.
- Reactive Maintenance: Responding to mechanical call-outs and resolving issues promptly to minimize disruption for residents and tenants.
- Compliance: Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines and site regulations.
- Reporting: Maintaining accurate digital and paper records of all works completed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HIU servicing and repair is essential.
- Strong background in general mechanical building services and PPM delivery.
- A relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider facilities team.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer-facing work.
Shift Pattern & Benefits
- To maintain site coverage, you will work on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Shift A: 07:00 – 16:00
- Shift B: 08:00 – 17:00
- Shift C: 10:00 – 19:00
