Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Innovation and Professional Support Lawyer will help lead and develop knowledge management, innovation and practice support across Jones Day’s London Real Estate practice, with a focus on Real Estate and Private Equity Real Estate matters. The role will involve shaping and improving knowledge systems, document management, resource organisation and precedent development across direct real estate and corporate real estate transactions. The successful candidate will support the evaluation, adoption and implementation of legal technology, particularly AI-powered tools, and help embed those tools into day-to-day workflows. They will maintain knowledge resources on prior transactions and market-standard terms, develop client briefings, legal updates, articles and other thought leadership, and monitor legal, regulatory and market developments relevant to the practice. The role will also include contributing to internal and client-facing seminars, workshops and training, as well as maintaining client-ready materials for pitches, tenders and ongoing engagements. Working closely with practice leadership and the Firm’s AI & Innovation team, the appointee will identify workflow improvements, reduce duplication, streamline transaction execution and support fee earners in delivering efficient, high-quality client service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant post-qualification experience as an English qualified lawyer in real estate or corporate, with a meaningful track record in a PSL, knowledge management, or legal innovation role.
  • Experience of real estate sector transactions is preferred — whether direct real estate or corporate real estate. There is no upper limit on experience — we welcome applications from candidates at all levels of seniority.
  • Interest in and experience of deploying legal technology and AI tools in a practice setting, with the ability to lead implementation and drive adoption across a team. Familiarity with current AI-powered legal tools (such as Harvey, Legora, or equivalent) is expected.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for technology and innovation in legal knowledge management, and a willingness to explore and champion new approaches.
