The Jones Bros Group has been operating for over 60 years and predominantly provides complete civil engineering solutions for a range of projects across the UK with an extensive track record in Renewables and Energy, Waste Management Facilities & Landfill Engineering, Highways & Rail, Infrastructure and Flood, Coastal & Marine Infrastructure.
To support of the delivery of these projects, we continue to develop our in-house expertise, employing over 500 people across all project delivery trades and grades including engineers, project managers, contract programmers, works managers and operatives. We now seek a Graduate Bid Writer to commence with us. We seek a graduate with strong writing skills, organisation and communication skills to take on bid writing and the role of bid co-ordinator. You will be given exposure to a range of challenges and development opportunities within a supportive working environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Creation of high quality PQQ (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire) and bid documents, including writing and editing content (text and graphics) and document production
- Management of bid document production, including championing best practice in planning and organisation and ensuring compliance with business development process, style and brand guidance
- Co-ordination of bid information in conjunction with the tendering/estimating teams
- Contribution to development and implementation of the Bid Development Plan
- Building and developing relationships with the operational teams
- Client presentations, preparing for interviews and organising site visits as required
- Being the writer in submissions, PQQs and tenders, agreeing strategy with the tendering teams, ensuring adequate resources are available to complete the submission, managing resources and ensure all content is in place.
To be considered, applicants should hold a degree in a relevant subject (examples include but are not limited to Civil or Structural Engineering, English, English Literature, History, Construction, Marketing). In addition, the following is desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of bid writing in public and private sectors
- Knowledge of bid writing in Civil Engineering or a similar background
- Strong computer literacy with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly developed professional communication skills
