We are looking for a Graduate Environment Advisor to join our dynamic organisation in a hands-on advisory and implementation role. The successful candidate will be joining our established Health, Safety, and Environment team reporting directly to the department’s Environment Manager. Alongside our construction project delivery teams, they will be responsible for assisting, advising and implementing environmental improvement initiatives at a major construction project, initially in Minster, Kent, and then throughout the UK.
What You Will Be Doing
- Liaising with site delivery teams to provide advice, support and training on all aspects of environmental issues affecting the construction site.
- Monitoring energy usage on construction sites and head office and improving information capture with the aim of improving energy and carbon performance.
- Completing site inspections and discussing findings and recommendations with project staff.
- Helping to ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO50001 and environmental licences, permits etc.
- Water pollution prevention on construction sites, in particular silt management.
- Support sites with site environmental documentation, i.e. CEMP, waste management, aspects/impacts etc.
- Developing innovative solutions, e.g. renewable energy systems for site cabins.
- Liaising with environmental specialists, regulators and client representatives.
- Contributing to written bids for new contracts and awards.
- Advising and assisting with audits and accreditations.
- Design and implementation of company-wide initiatives to improve environmental awareness e.g. minimising waste.
What We Are Looking For
- Willingness to travel and work away from home, with overnight stays if necessary.
- Degree in Environment Sciences or equivalent.
- Competent and comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated, focused, well-organised and able to work to deadlines.
- Enthusiastic about health & safety and environmental issues.
- Effective at communicating with all levels of the workforce.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

We believe in developing our staff through building experience on the job as well as further academic and professional qualifications where appropriate for the individual.
Company contributing pension scheme (eligibility applies) Travel and subsistence allowances while attending site. All training and professional membership fees will be paid for.
