We are seeking a competent Health & Safety Advisor to join the team working in the South Wales region for approx. 1 year and then working across the UK. Reporting to the Contracts Director, Contracts Manager & Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager, the successful candidate will provide HSE technical and competent advice and support to our sites.

The role and responsibilities will include:
- HSE Management Plans: Supporting the planning processes and production/maintenance of key management plans including the Project Management Plan (PMP), Construction Phase Plan (CPP), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Devising & Approving RAMS, Task Briefings, Permit to Dig etc.
- Safety Briefings, Inductions and Site Team Engagement: Deliver site safety inductions to all site team, workforce and visitors, support the site team preparing and delivering toolbox talks, behavioural safety programmes and safety briefings.
- Technical Advice & Support: Providing specialist advice, support and input where required to deal with specific project issues with planning, managing and monitoring HSE considerations.
- Project Review: Reviewing the project to identify opportunities and unusual risks.
- Incident Management: Assisting/delivering any part of the site-based elements of the incident management process including incident control, notification and investigations.
- HSE Compliance: Ensuring compliance with HSE management system & procedures as part of our Business Management System.
- HSE Monitoring: Providing support in terms of project monitoring requirements, including regular HSE inspections, audits, trends etc.
- Risk Identification & Mitigation: As appropriate.
- Record Keeping: Including regular HSE progress and status reports.
- Client Interface: Satisfy client requirements by providing client HSE representation and attendance at progress meetings.
To be successful in this role you must have the following qualifications and capabilities:
- Willingness to travel & work at various sites across the UK (including overnight stays).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Minimum NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate and working towards next qualification.
- Technical/Certified member of IOSH (and working towards chartered status).
- Preferable 2/3 years working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor.
- Highly developed professional communication skills, including writing and presentation of reports, investigations, preparing relevant documents, and participating in a range of meetings.
- Be able to confidently and effectively communicate with all levels of the workforce, contractors, clients and regulatory bodies.
- Be self-motivated, focused, reliable, well-organised, flexible, possess good team working ethic.
- Enthusiastic about health, safety & environmental issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong computer literacy, including good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
