Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. Jonathan Lee Workforce Solutions are the preferred supplier to Mazak.
The successful candidate will support the preparation, packaging and dispatch of machines, ensuring products are shipped safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands‑on role working closely with internal departments and transport providers to ensure efficient shipping operations.
Job Description
- Prepare machines and associated equipment for dispatch in line with company standards.
- Package and secure machines to ensure safe transportation.
- Assist with loading machines onto trailers and transport vehicles.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure machines are ready for shipment.
- Complete shipping documentation and records accurately.
- Support investigations relating to shipping issues and customer feedback where required.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for all shipping activities.
- Carry out pre‑dispatch checks to ensure quality and customer requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the Shipping Department.
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with health, safety and company standards.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, logistics, warehouse or shipping environment.
- Experience preparing, packaging or handling large products or equipment would be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to follow processes, procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and supporting colleagues when required.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer literacy for completing documentation and records.
- Flexible approach and willingness to learn new processes and systems.
Desirable Criteria
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Overhead Crane experience.
- Experience working with export packaging or shipping documentation.
