Are you an experienced Engineering Manager from an aerospace MRO, component repair, precision manufacturing, or gas turbine environment? This is an opportunity to lead a highly specialised engineering function within an established aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisation with over 30 years of industry expertise. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, operational performance, and the introduction of new aerospace component repair technologies.

Working across aerospace and industrial gas turbine components, you will lead engineering, repair development, quality, and production support activities while ensuring full compliance with AS9100, AS9110, Part 145, and customer requirements.

The opportunity

As Engineering Manager, you will have significant technical and operational influence across the business. You’ll lead a team of experienced engineers, drive continuous improvement, develop innovative repair schemes, and support the introduction of new component repairs and manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role suited to someone who combines strong technical expertise with operational and people leadership experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the repair, overhaul, processing, and manufacture of aerospace and gas turbine components
  • Manage engineering activities across repair development, production support, quality, and planning
  • Develop and approve component repair schemes that meet or exceed OEM and customer requirements
  • Drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead KPI and operational performance improvement across engineering activities
  • Support the introduction of new repair technologies, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9110, ISO9001, Part 145, and customer requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Mentor and develop engineering teams while building a high-performance engineering culture
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets, and technical priorities

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in experienced engineering leaders who have worked in aerospace MRO, aerospace manufacturing, gas turbine, precision engineering, or a highly regulated engineering environment. You’re likely to have experience in:

  • Engineering management or engineering operations leadership
  • Aerospace component repair, overhaul, or special process environments
  • AS9100 / AS9110 / ISO9001 quality systems
  • Part 145 or equivalent regulated engineering environments
  • Continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma
  • Technical problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Team leadership, coaching, and performance management

Experience with thermal spraying, coatings, machining, NDT, or aerospace special processes would be highly advantageous. A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred.

Why join?

  • Established aerospace MRO organisation with a strong industry reputation
  • Technically challenging aerospace and gas turbine engineering work
  • Opportunity to influence engineering strategy and business performance
  • Investment in new repair technologies and engineering capability
  • Senior leadership visibility with direct reporting to the Managing Director
  • Long-term career progression within a growing engineering business
